Shining Resonance Refrain Heading West on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC

Sega of America and Europe have announced that Shining Resonance Refrain will be released in the West on PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PC. The game was previously released on PlayStation 3 exclusively in Japan. The localized version features dual audio with English and Japanese voices, as well as all of the original’s DLC. A new addition to the game is the “Refrain Mode,” which unlocks the Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas as party members.

The game’s “Draconic” launch edition for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, features a collectible metal slipcase, with character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika. And this time, the launch edition has been confirmed for Europe as well! You can view the announcement trailer and images of the launch edition below.

At this rate we will be asking Sega of Japan to release more games for Atlus to localize 🙂 A lot of good ones were lost in the past years, but seems right now is the best time to still be a fan of japanese sega games.

Did Atlus localize this? I thought Sega did? I’m hoping that Sega is testing the waters with this and VC4, and is looking at reviving older RPG series like Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star and Sakura Wars. If they’re successful. Atlus didn’t succeed in the western market over night though, and Sega can succeed in this niche, they only need to try. Which they have never really done before.
