Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Out Now: New Launch Trailer, Themes and EU Digital Deluxe Edition

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered - Edelweiss Theme

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered - Edelweiss Theme

SEGA of America and Europe have both released Valkyria Chronicles Remastered today in their respective territories. Four static themes will be made available (for the EU they already are) on the PlayStation Store for $1.99/€1.99, you can see previews of these below. These appear to be the same themes released for Asia, although at the moment we only have 4 out of the 16 that were made available there. These four themes join the 12 avatars that were already made available earlier in the US. For the EU, you can find these on the PlayStation Store by following this link. For the US, these don’t appear to be available yet at this time.

SEGA Europe have also announced a Digital Deluxe Edition for the EU, available starting today for a limited time, which contains the 12 avatars and 4 static themes (which can also be bought separately). You can find the PSN store page for this edition here. In what I find to be an interesting development, it only costs €19.99. This is lower than the standard price of €24.99 for the physical version, and it actually has extra’s of its own. I’m used to seeing digital versions costing more than the physical version while offering no extra content at all, so I can only applaud SEGA Europe’s decision to offer a digital version that actually offers gamers a good deal.

Below you can find the trailers for both America and Europe (they’re largely the same), and a view on the static themes. At this price point, I hope the Remaster will prove to be a success. I imagine I’m not the only one who would like to see a potential Valkyria Chronicles 4 on console/PC.
