Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live – 1st Stage Details

SEGA of Japan has issued a new press release containing more information on the “1st stage” of their upcoming VR game, Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live. Below you can find a translated version of the information in the press release (via 4Gamer). The game has already been confirmed for the Americas and Europe, releasing just one day after the official launch of the PlayStation VR headset, on October 14.

The world’s first Hatsune Miku VR Live Concert

Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live is a PlayStation VR exclusive, where you’ll be able to experience a live concert from the digital diva, Hatsune Miku.

Player-Selected Custom Setlist

The player (who is in the audience) can select the songs that will be played. The player gets to choose one out of two songs.

Live Start

When Miku makes her appearance on the live stage, the concert can finally begin! The player point of view can be switched freely at any time using the directional keys. You can also enjoy Miku’s performance from an angle that you wouldn’t be able to experience in a real live concert.

Other views shown below include a view from the back, looking out on the crowd, and a view from the upper levels.

A Live Concert only possible in VR

You can enjoy one performance after another while enjoying the sense of realism delivered by VR. As you can see below, a giant Miku hologram will also appear on stage, allowing you to enjoy the concert even from a seat in the back.

A flying stage will also hover over the audience, again allowing you to enjoy the concert from various perspectives.

Realistic sound as well

The game supports 7.1 surround audio, allowing for a realistic rendition of a live concert. The sound will differ depending on your position in the audience. When you’re standing on the stage itself, you’ll also get to hear Miku’s singing voice.

Call and Response

The content in Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live isn’t just intended to be viewed only. The player can liven up the concert together with the rest of the audience. Like in an actual live concert, you can shake a glow stick to the rhythm or sing along to the tune. By gradually increasing the voltage in the venue, the live concert will be more fulfilling. Call out to Miku together with the crowd, and you may receive a “Thank you” from her as well.

After the first song, you’ll get to select two more songs for Miku to perform. As the concert nears its climax, Miku may also switch into a different costume.

Private encore

Hatsune Miku: VR Future Live features only three songs. But if you worked hard to liven up the concert, you may be rewarded with a private performance from Miku on an Encore stage.

A “2nd Stage” and “3rd Stage” will also be delivered

Hatsune Miku VR Future Live will receive a second and third installment as well. SEGA asks you to look forward to the follow-up!
