Atlus Is Setting up Its Own European Publishing Team

Atlus has announced that it will be creating its own European publishing team, located in SEGA Europe’s headquarters. This will enable them to start publishing their own titles in the future, likely signaling the end of their publishing partnership with Deep Silver. Commercial director Simon Inch is already on-board for the new team, and moving forward they will be adding a PR manager and a product marketing manager.

All three will operate out of Sega Europe’s offices in London. Jacob Nahin, senior PR manager at Atlus USA, had the following to say regarding their new European team:

It is a strong example of the growth we are experiencing as a company. Publishing in Europe is simply the next step for us. What this means initially for fans is a parity for launch and premium editions. From a business perspective, we’ll be better positioned to address the needs of each market in which we release our titles.

This is good news for those in Europe, as the premium editions were often absent or lacking in comparison to their US counterparts. It’s not entirely clear if this will also mean games from SEGA of America will be published by Atlus in Europe from now on, but it’s probably likely.

Best idea ever : I hope they’ll start localizing their games in other languages than just english with this team. It’ll be great to make them known.
