Valkyria Chronicles Cafe in Japan!

Valkyria Chronicles Cafe Menu Spread

Surprise attack! Valkyria Chronicles and Sweets Paradise are collaborating for a Valkyria Chronicles-themed cafe in Japan. February 26 marked the grand opening, and the project will run until May 8. Quite a long time! The cafe project is taking place at the Marui Kinshicho department store in Tokyo. Look for it on the 7th Floor, running from 11:00 A.M. to 10:30 P.M.

The cafe and its menu items are themed around the first Valkyria Chronicles game. From the entrance a sign beckons prospecting patrons:

The surprise launch of the Valkyria Chronicles Cafe has been covered with rather extensive articles in Gamer.ne.jp, Famitsu, and DengekiOnline. The ambiance is soft, which fits with the lush world of Gallia.

The featured image we used covers the full spread of the items on offer at the Valkyria Chronicles cafe. The menu itself is visible below:

Selvaria’s item is a cream stew, and Alicia’s item is a hamburger with the world’s most adorable cherry tomato on top. Welkin’s item is a Caesar salad, Isara’s item is a tank made of chocolate, and Edy’s item is a…tsundere strawberry parfait. The drinks include a ragnite-inspired blue drink, an alcoholic drink called Selvaria’s Red Eye, and an orange alcoholic drink inspired by Faldio. Items marked with a red circle are alcoholic. The character-themed lattes (the third in the drink row) are probably one of the standout items. There are nine different character designs, and the one the customer receives is random.

Patrons will also receive one of a set of coasters and stickers, randomly distributed. Check out a spread of them below. The items on the top are the coasters, and the items on the bottom are the stickers.

Yoichi Shimozato visited the cafe on opening day to sample the menu and to promote the launch of the Valkyria Chronicles Remaster, in addition to the upcoming development and release of Valkyria: Azure Revolution. Shimozato is the chief producer of Valkyria: Azure Revolution and is described as the chief of the Valkyria series itself within Sega. Here’s a picture of him having a good time.

Looks like he went for the cream stew!
