Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon: New System Videos

Atlus recently updated the Etrian Odyssey and Mystery Dungeon promotional website with videos showing off some of the core gameplay systems in this crossover title. They play automatically upon visiting the site, with options to toggle audio on or off. These short videos should offer a look at how these two different franchises will blend together. Continue reading to check them out!

The first video below is a look into character-making. It seems there will be ten classes available, and four color pallets per gender. There are seven classes listed (Swordsman, Paladin, Gunner, Medic, Runemaster, Cursemaker/Hexer, and Dancer) with three others unavailable.

The second video showcases movement throughout dungeons. Towards the end of the video, viewers should also get a glimpse of a dungeon’s lengthiness, which should not be a surprise considering how long some dungeons in the Mystery Dungeon franchise can be.

The third video features more dungeon progression and a quick look at skill allocation. Movement and attacks use a grid-based system. At the end of the video the Gunner uses an attack that damages a column of enemies in front of her. Positioning of you and your enemies can mean everything!

The last video features a variety of obstacles. Sometimes players will have their party separated to different corners of the dungeon. Other times enemies will spawn nearby. There are all sorts of traps in the game, players will have to take care to keep their parties together!
