This year will mark the 20th anniversary of the Sakura Wars franchise. It is an achievement to be proud of, as Sakura Wars is one of Sega’s most influential properties in Japan and was once an extremely strong seller.
Be sure to stop by the Sakura Taisen Twitter account sometime (and follow it, too!) It’s been outfitted with some new 20th anniversary-themed art.
Two live performances featuring Sakura Wars cast members as part of this year’s celebration of the franchise were recently announced. First, on March 31st, Anison History Japan has invited Chisa Yokoyama (Sakura Shinguji’s seiyuu) for a Sakura Wars-themed performance during the 1:00 live event bloc. Anison History Japan will be a two day event featuring wide variety of performers of anime songs. Check out this event page for additional information!
In addition to that, “The Dressing Room of Paris 6” is coming up. It’ll feature standard Sakura Wars event fare – singing and dancing, acting, and perhaps some brief talk segments. Event management is accepting applications tomorrow, and the event itself takes place on May 7th. Check out this promotional image below, too:
