Valkyria Chronicles Soundtracks on iTunes

While we here at Segalization continue to push for an official localized release of Valkyria Chronicles 3, we’d like to remind fans that a couple of soundtracks from the series have already made their way over to the West via iTunes. The OSTs for both Valkyria Chronices 2 and 3, along with a Piano Pieces album are availble for purchase on the US iTunes store.   Each soundtrack was created by famed VGM composer Hitoshi Sakimoto (Radiant Silvergun, Dragon’s Crown, Final Fantasy Tactics and XII) who worked on all three games.  Valkyria Chronicles Piano Pieces is selection of music from the series arranged by Australian composer Casey Ormond, for additional information on the album, check out the PV here.

While not officially announced by SEGA of America themselves, these releases seem to be from Sakimoto’s company Basiscape during the 2010-2011 period.  Previously, Sakimoto also had his work included in a “Best of the Valkyria Chronicles” compilation as part of a Humble Music Bundle last summer.

Valkyria Chronicles 2 Official Soundtrack and Valkyria Chronicles 3 (Official Soundtrack) are priced at $19.99 USD each, while Valkyria Chronicles Piano Pieces is available for $9.90 USD. Individual tracks can also be purchased for $0.99 USD each.   The prices are much more economical in comparison to importing the physical CDs–at the time of writing, the soundtracks for VC1 and VC2 were available on eBay, set at $60 and $50 USD repectively.

Don’t forget to also check out other great SEGA OSTs on iTunes, along with the releases for Jet Set Radio and Jet Set Radio Future.

Segalization recently had the opportunity to ask Managing Editor Matt Moylan a few questions to learn more about what goes on in bringing these products over to the West, even regarding art books from games that have not been localized…yet (We’re looking at you Valkyria Chronicles 3).
