PlayStation TV Launches in North America

Sony’s PlayStation TV has finally reached North America today. The regular version costs $99.99, but there’s also a bundle that includes the PS TV, a DualShock 3 controller, 8GB memory card, and a voucher for The Lego Movie Videogame for $139.99. The small device allows people to play a large number of games from different Sony platforms on your TV, ranging from games on the PS Vita (unfortunately not all of them work), PSone , PSP, PS3 (through streaming on PlayStation Now), and PS4 (Remote Play functionality).

Both the DualShock 3 and 4 are supported. Among the games that are playable on the system are of course Valkyria Chronicles 2, which sort of marks the series’ return to the TV. Unfortunately it seems the game is still unavailable in the US through the PSN store, requiring people to download the game using a PS3. Aside from playing games, the device can also allow people to view movies (either from the PSN store or from one of its video streaming apps). The PlayStation TV is scheduled for release in Europe on November 14th.

EDIT: It seems Valkyria Chronicles 2 is not listed as being compatible for the US version of PlayStation TV. It is, however, listed as compatible for the EU version.
