BeastNote continues to diligently track news on Shining Resonance on their blog. During the beginning of December, BeastNote wrote about a couple of new videos uploaded by Sega showing off costumes and some slice-of-life interaction skits. On Christmas Day, BeastNote wrote about the announcement of two characters as DLC extras: Princess Excella, the leader of Lombardia and the Drag Machina, and Jenius, the solitary warrior with a grudge. Excella and Jenius will be released on January 8th, 2015 and are priced at ¥925 each.

In this first video, the group is about to eat some stew, but Kirika seems hesitant to dig in when everyone else does. Yuuma and Kirika chat for a bit, but Yuuma notices that there are more pieces of carrot than he expected. Rinna catches on; she playfully needles Kirika after she notices that Yuuma’s observation and seeing that Kirika’s stew lacks carrots (apparently by saying Kirika’s stew is all red and lacks color compared to everyone else’s stew?). Kirika claims that her portion has too many carrots, but this only sets off the cook: Agnam. Agnam tries to get her to eat some carrots, but she keeps refusing and the party comes to understand she doesn’t like carrots (though Kirika refuses to say so.) After this exchange, Kirika learns the skill “Carrot Hater” and Agnam learns “Fiery Chef”.
This second video demos Marching Band costumes for the party characters. All characters except Lesty have their costumes shown off. The clip starts off with a short skit, followed by battles that show off everybody’s marching band costumes. BeastNote writes that the costume availability for each character is as follows: Yuuma, Sonia, and Kirika’s costumes are preorder bonuses, Agnam and Marion’s costumes were made available as DLC on launch date, Rinna’s costume is acquired through a code found in the December 25th issue of Famitsu, and Lesty’s costume will be made available through DLC at a date TBA. We are currently unaware if there will be other ways of acquiring Yuuma, Sonia, Kirika, and Rinna’s costumes, considering their apparently limited availability.
This third video is designed to show off Kirika’s swimsuit costume, which came with the game’s limited edition alongside a Kirika swimsuit figurine. After a short skit, the video shows off Kirika in her swimsuit fighting battles alone.
The final video here shows off both Excella and Jenius in battle. Excella’s walking speed in battle is pretty fast and she has attacks that seem to last long and hit plenty of times. She even has an attack that temporarily takes her off of the field as the player selects a target. Jenius moves extremely fast and attacks with absurdly wide and long range. At the end of some attacks he can teleport. Excella seems to sing or play her weapon like a flute in B.A.N.D. attacks, and she is shown using a special attack that seems to summon Kouryuu Irvan, which is surprising considering the apparent antagonism between the two characters. Jenius, on the other hand, stands and crosses his arms during B.A.N.D. attacks!
