Atlus and Vanillaware Announce Odin Sphere Leifthrasir for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita

During a special broadcast on niconico live, Atlus and Vanillaware have announced a new HD remake of Odin Sphere, a side-scrolling action RPG game first released in 2007 on the PlayStation 2. The HD remake, named Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, will apparently include additional content, and will be released on the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on January 14, 2016 in Japan for the price of 7,890 yen.

During a live broadcast of actual gameplay, the main menu showed a “Classic Mode”, indicating the remake might offer revamped gameplay compared to the original game. An artbook for first print editions of the game was also announced.

Aside from this announcement, a Dragon’s Crown Original Soundtrack was also announced, to be released later this year. The soundtrack will include 56 songs by the game’s composer, Hitoshi Sakimoto. A bonus track featuring a piano arrangement will also be included.

At the end of the broadcast, Atlus and Vanillaware teased another project they’re working on, with details to be announced in September. You can watch the teaser trailer for that project here:
