Valkyria Azure Revolution - Release Date Announcement

Valkyria: Azure Revolution Release Date Confirmed for January 19 on PS4 and PS Vita in Japan

SEGA has revealed the release date for Valkyria Azure Revolution in Japan. The game will launch on January 19 for the price on PlayStation 4 (7,990 yen) and PlayStation Vita (6,990 yen). The existence of a PlayStation Vita version is actually a big surprise, as the game was initially only confirmed for PlayStation 4. You can view a new trailer below, which doesn’t yet show the gameplay changes made to the game. For that, we’ll have to wait for the new demo, which will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show in September. The new demo will later on be made available in October on the Playstation Network for those who get a code at the Tokyo Game Show, or those who already owned a demo code for the previous demo. A new in-game screenshot, which you can view below, does show the new UI in action.

A fully-voiced additional story called “Judgment Chapter: Vanargand Formation” will be included in first-print copies of the game. The story is set one day before the game’s main story. The updated website also has an option to pre-register, which will apparently grant you access to (what I assume is) the same story. Take a look at the trailer below! There’s still no word on a potential release for the West, but given SEGA of America’s recent track record, we’re hopeful that the game will eventually be localized.

Our thanks to Gematsu for translating the details regarding the release.
