Valkyria Chronicles PC Will Have +1080P Resolutions, 60FPS and Remappable Controls

On Twitter, Sega replied to questions from fans who were worried about Valkyria Chronicles receiving a subpar PC port (like the recent release of FF XIII). It seems those fears were unfounded, as Sega reassured fans by confirming that the game will have native support for 720P/1080P or higher resolutions, 60FPS, keyboard/mouse support and also configurable controls. If accurate, and judging from previous Sega PC ports we have no reason to believe they aren’t, we’re looking at a solid PC port.

From what we’ve seen on the first screenshots, the assets (textures, 3D models, …) remain exactly the same as those of the PS3 version. Given the game’s art style however, this shouldn’t be a problem. As we’ve seen from the PC version of Jet Set Radio, higher resolution textures are not necessarily required to make cel-shaded games look up to date on modern hardware. The higher resolutions will also make it possible to significantly reduce the aliasing, which at times was very noticeable in the original 720P PS3 version. Sega also mentioned that more details will be revealed as we get closer to the release of the game on November 11, 2014.
