SEGA Releases More Project DIVA X Gameplay Details, Songs and Modules

SEGA have posted another update on their official SEGA feat. HATSUNE MIKU Project website. Here’s a complete overview of all the details!

We explained the five different areas, each having their own element, in the game’s Live Quest mode in the previous update. In short, there are five areas/elements: “Neutral”, “Cute”, “Cool”, “Beauty” and “Chaos”. You advance through these areas by clearing quests, which in turn means playing the rhythm game.

Project DIVA X Live Quest AreasIn the game’s “Home Base”, you can now have a conversation with Miku and her friends, or watch a conversation between them. This will allow you to grasp the current situation and your next objective.

After enjoying the conversation, it’s time to tackle the quest (which is basically a single rhythm game song)! Initially, you’ll start in the game’s Neutral area.

Project DIVA X Area Select
Note the “Gem” in the Area Select screen above. It’s empty at the moment, and you’ll gradually fill it by collecting “Voltage”. Each area has a Gem, and filling it completely grants you access to another area. Before you start a quest, you can view its clear conditions (“Voltage Order” in the image below) and its Bonus Element. In the quest shown below, the Bonus Element is “Cute”.

Project DIVA X Area Conditions
For more information on how exactly the Bonus Element influences your Voltage score and how you can use it to your advantage to make the quest easier to clear, you can read our previous article. In short, you can use equip specific modules and accessories which boost the initial value of the Voltage Meter.

Completing the quest may grant you new modules and other items, as you can see below. These modules and accessories may be linked to a specific element. In this case, the “High Fever” module is linked to the “Chaos” element, and the “dog ears” to the “Beauty” element.

Having completed a quest, you’ll notice the area’s Gem will start to fill. The Gem will continue to accumulate Voltage as you complete more quests.

Project DIVA X GemClear all the songs, and you’ll be challenged to a new “Medley” song.

Project DIVA X Gem AccumulateProject DIVA X Medley 1
As the name suggests, the song is a medley of songs from several artists. The first medley is called “Primary Colors”, and contains several songs from  (and was arranged by)  the OSTER Project. These songs are “Koisuru VOC@LOID”, “Dreaming Leaf -Yume Miru Kotonoha-“, “Moody Waltz” and “Miracle Paint”. The medley starts with just Hatsune Miku, but one by one, the other characters join in.

Clear the medley, and the Gem will be filled completely, allowing you to go to the next area of you choice.

Lastly, here are the newly announced songs and their respective modules!

“Streaming Hearts”, by DECO*27 (Element: Chaos)

“Amazing Dolce”, by Hitoshizuku-P x Yama△ (Element: Beauty)

“Sea Lily Deep Sea Tale”, by n-buna (Element: Cute)

“Slow Motion”, by Pinocchio-P (Element: Chaos)

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva X is scheduled for a release on the PS Vita in Japan in March 2016, followed by a release on the PS4 in Fall 2016.
