Ako and Lucian DLC for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Released in Japan

Earlier on we talked about the new DLC for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition, featuring Ako and Lucian from the light novel “Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta?”. SEGA have now made the DLC available on the Japanese PlayStation store for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, at the price of 800 yen. You can watch the release trailer below.

While the original Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax was localized for the West, it’s not clear at this point if SEGA intends to do the same for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition.

We recently posted an article about the two new DLC characters for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax: Ignition, namely Ako and Lucian from the light novel series “Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta?”. New Characters From “Netoge no Yome” To Be Added To DBFC: Ignition

Remember when we last wrote about Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition? Did you think updates for the game were finished?

Then, news of a new round of DLC characters to be added to the game might surprise you. Dengeki Online has announced that Ako and Lucian from “Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta?”, a light novel series, are going to be introduced as paid DLC characters for Ignition. While both of these characters have leading roles in their franchise of origin, Ako will be a playable character and Lucian will be a support option. In our featured image above, Ako is on the left and Lucian is on the right beside her. Ako will also be receiving a Story Mode scenario when she is made available for Ignition.

There’s no word on release date or pricing yet, but the characters will be available for playtesting in a new build at the Dengeki Game Festival taking place on March 13 (this upcoming Sunday) in Akihabara, according to the Dengeki Online article linked above.

Following the localization of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax for the West, the expanded iteration “Ignition” hasn’t been localized yet for Western audiences.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax: Ignition Gets Yuuki and LLEN DLC Trailer

We talked about the upcoming DLC for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax: Ignition in a previous article, and SEGA has recently released a trailer for the DLC (which contains two characters from the TV anime Sword Art Online: Yuuki and LLEN). The DLC is available now in Japan for the PS4, PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game, and it’ll remain free until January 31. You can watch the trailer after the break.

Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition – Yuuki DLC Info, Stream Archive and More

Today (December 17th in Japan) marks the release date of Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition in Japan! This iteration of the series introduces Emi Yusa, Qwenthur Barbotage, Tatsuya Shiba, Kuroko Shirai, and Yuuki (on Christmas) as playable characters, while adding several new assist characters. The fighting system is also upgraded from the previous version and opens up new combo possibilities.

Dengeki Online has revealed more details around the DLC schedule for Yuuki and Len (an assist character.) Both will be made available for free starting on December 25 (Christmas present!) and ending on January 31st. The two DLC characters will still be available, but will then become paid DLC. This same Dengeki Online article shows off a promotional event for the game’s release, so check it out if you’d like to browse some photos of the event.

The product page and purchase option for Ignition is live on the Japanese Playstation Store. Here are the pages for the PS3, PS4, and Vita versions.

New TV Commercials for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax: Ignition

Gearing up for the game’s launch on December 17th in Japan, SEGA is airing two TV commercials for Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax: Ignition, which they’ve also uploaded to their Japanese Youtube channel. The game will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, and has additional characters and rebalanced gameplay compared to the original Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition to Receive DLC Characters, Including Yuuki from Sword Art Online

Dengeki Online recently revealed that Sega is planning DLC characters to coincide with the release of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax Ignition on PS3, PS4, and Vita later this month. First up is (playable) and Ren of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online who will be an assist character. Both will be free DLC for a limited time, but additional details such as date of availability and the specification of the free download period will be announced later.

No word yet on Yuuki’s fighting style or any video footage of her in action, but it won’t be long before we find out since Ignition releases on December 17. It’s entirely possible that we’ll get another playable character or two, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Opening Video

Sega has just released the opening video for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition, the second iteration in their Fighting Climax series of games featuring Sega and Dengeki Bunko properties. The game is being released for dedicated gaming platforms (PS3, PS4, Vita) on the 17th of December in Japan.

A reminder that Blade Arcus from Shining EX also recently hit stores. With the gap in release dates, it’s not likely that Blade Arcus from Shining EX and Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition will compete with each other.

New Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Trailer Features All of the Game’s Characters

A rather lengthy trailer has been released for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition, featuring all of the game’s playable and support characters. The trailer also reveals that the game supports online play between the PS3 and PS4. Those who buy a first-print copy of the game will receive a free theme (specific for the platform it was purchased on). You can take a look at the trailer below!

The game is scheduled for a release on December 17 in Japan, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. A release in the West hasn’t been announced yet, but the original Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax (PS3 and PS Vita) was released in the US and EU in October this year.

Dengeki Online’s 10/28 Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition Livestream Archive

Missed the recent livestream for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition? It’s fine – Dengeki Online have uploaded the stream footage to their YouTube account. The stream clocks in at around a hefty hour and a half! But, you’ll want to be aware that most of the footage features discussion from the panelists or skits.

The stream is notable for featuring the first gameplay footage of Kuroko Shirai, the newly-announced playable character for Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax Ignition. You can see her at the 38:20 mark and the 1:04:50 mark (and the two matches that follow directly after this.) It’s an opportunity to glean a little more insight into how she might play as a character.

Check out the footage at around the 28-minute mark (the first instance of gameplay footage being demoed,) and you’ll notice a new stage. It’s the SeHaGaga Academy from Hi☆sCoool! SeHa Girls! It’s the central location for all of the SeHa Girls’ shenanigans in the anime series that aired last year, and features a number of Sega-related shoutouts. I think NiGHTS floating around is a cute touch, but I personally just like NiGHTS.
