Tokyo Mirage Session #FE Announcement

Tokyo Mirage Session #FE Releasing on June 24th in North America and Europe

During the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo and Atlus have announced that the Wii U crossover RPG for the Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem franchises, called Genei Ibun Roku #FE in Japan, will be localized in the West as Tokyo Mirage Session #FE. Interestingly, Nintendo revealed that, because the game is set in Japan, they will be keeping the original Japanese voice track and include English subtitles, rather than dubbing the game in English. The game will be released on June 24th in North America and Europe, and on June 25th for Australia and New Zealand. You can watch the announcement during the Nintendo Direct in the video below (starting at 11m43).

Kind of a lame excuse, like saying “we are only releasing super nintendo games on the NEW 3DS because the buttons are the same colour as the super nintendo” LOL it’s like they think we are plain stupid or something.

Not against Japanese voices, at all, but don’t insult your customers like this, purease andertand.

Never played a SMT and only played the first FE released west, and I really don’t know what this game is about, I was actually thinking it was a rhythm game lol but if it’s just an rpg with lots of music I may pass, Disney got me tired of those kind of stories when I was a child.

From what I’ve seen, the game resembles Persona more than it resembles SMT or FE. The reviews from Japan did seem favorable, so it does seem like a good game in its own right. But it probably would have been better of as a new IP. The cross-over didn’t really help sales, on the contrary even. I don’t think it’s inaccurate to say it’s an “RPG with a lot of music”, since music and the Japanese idol business is certainly an important part of the story.
