SEGA & ATLUS Announce Their E3 2016 Line-Up, Including Yakuza 0, Persona 5, 7th Dragon III and Project DIVA X (UPDATED)

SEGA and Atlus have issued a new press release announcing their lineup of the games for this year’s E3.  For the first time at this event, SEGA and ATLUS will be sharing a stand on the shown floor, located at West Hall Booth #4810. The only actual SEGA Europe title being shown at the stand is Yakuza 0, which will be playable. While Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is also playable, the title will be published by Nintendo in Europe.  SEGA of America on the other hand will also be showing 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, which sadly hasn’t been confirmed for a European release yet. SEGA’s upcoming Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will apparently not be shown.

UPDATE: Sam Mullen pointed out on Twitter that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X will be present at E3, despite not being mentioned in the press release below! He also confirmed that the game will be playable, as a three song demo of the PS4 version will be present at the stage.

SEGA Europe: “No Plans Right Now” to Bring 7th Dragon III Code: VFD to Europe, Atlus “Free To Choose” Their EU Publisher

During the latest SEGA Central, SEGA Europe Community Manager Dan Sheridan answered another batch of #AskSEGA questions from the fans. When asked by Suketodara whether or not they’re planning to bring 7th Dragon III Code: VFD to Europe, Dan answered:

Right now there are no plans to bring 7th Dragon to Europe. However, we know that there are European SEGA fans who are keen to see a release. There’s nothing we can confirm today, but we are looking if it’s something we can make happen.

SEGA of America Reveals 7th Dragon III Code: VFD DLC Plans

SEGA of America has recently announced their DLC plans for the upcoming Summer 2016 3DS title 7th Dragon III Code: VFD.

Similar to Etrian Mystery Dungeon, there’s an assortment of quests that offer specialized rewards and unique challenges (besides loot and experience boosts) for players. While these quests are paid DLC there is also a free DLC piece featuring the Nagamimi doll, a talking bunny plush that provides joy and justice. The pricing schedule for the other pieces of DLC are also provided, alongside the release date for each of the DLC. Atlus stresses that not all DLC can be readily accessed from the beginning of the game and progressing through 7th Dragon III Code: VFD is essential (some content is only available post-game, too). There are no plans for release in Europe announced at the moment.

7th Dragon III: Code VFD Gets New Trailer, Detailing the Game’s Battle System

In an e-mail sent to Atlus mailing list subscribers (who are nicknamed the “Atlus Faithful”), they point out that their friends at SEGA of America are working on the dungeon crawler RPG 7th Dragon III: Code VFD, and that the game may be of interest to the fans of dungeon RPGs from Atlus such as the Etrian Odyssey series. Interestingly, one of the trailers included actually appears to be new, offering the Atlus Faithful a first look at the game’s battle system.

SEGA of America have posted a few of the pages from the bonus art book for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD online! The 28-page ( full color) art book includes designs from the game’s character designer, Miwa Shirow, and will be included with pre-orders and day one launch copies of the game in America. You can view the sample pages below! So far, there’s been no word on a potential EU release of the game.

7th Dragon 2020 Receives English Fan Translation

While SEGA’s RPG 7th Dragon III Code VFD will be released on July 12, 2016 in North America for the Nintendo 3DS, none of the previous games in the franchise were officially localized. But like with Valkyria Chronicles 3, that hasn’t stopped fans from translating the game themselves. After having already created a fan translation for the original 7th Dragon, Geoff Embree has now released an English fan translation for its sequel, 7th Dragon 2020. which was originally released in Japan on November 23, 2011 for the PlayStation Portable.

Travel Through Time and Save Mankind in 7th Dragon III: Code VFD

SEGA of America have posted their latest trailer for their upcoming RPG 7th Dragon III: Code VFD, showing the game’s time-traveling aspect. In order to save the world from destruction from invading dragons, players will embark on a journey through three different time periods. In each of them, a True Dragon must be defeated before they can take on the “7th Dragon”: VFD. Kotobukiya Starts Pre-orders for 7th Dragon III “Fortuner” 1/7 Figure

SEGA have posted an update on their official Japanese website for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, announcing that Kotobukiya’s 7th Dragon III Code: VFD 1/7 Fortuner figure will be released in July 2016. The PVC figure has a height of 230mm and was sculpted by Sho Kojima, based on the original character designs from Shiro Miwa. The official price for the figure is ¥12,800 (excluding tax), although many websites are offering the pre-order at a discounted price.
