“Miracle Girls’ Festival” Live Concert Event in Japan

Last month, SEGA announced “Miracle Girls’ Festival”, a live event featuring seiyuu that voiced characters in the Playstation Vita title Miracle Girls Festival. For those who may have forgotten (it’s been some time since we’ve written about the game, and it was never localized), Miracle Girls Festival featured units of characters from ten different notable anime series.

On April 3rd, the Miracle Girls’ Festival live concert was held. It comprised of two parts: a talk session featuring games and discussion from the attending seiyuu, and a performance session featuring live singing and dancing from attending seiyuu. The talk session included an extended team-based competition wherein two teams, led by Yuka Ōtsubo and Ayaka Ohashi (well-known seiyuu in their own right), took seiyuu from each of the attending units and competed in events including a table tennis showdown, a themed posing contest, a quiz, and some showdowns in the Miracle Girls Festival game itself! That sounds fun, and quite intense. Yuka Ōtsubo’s team emerged as the victor, with a clutch victory from a showdown in playing Miracle Girls Festival that awarded one million points.

The live performance section followed after the talk and games section. Here are the performing units for this section of the unit:

  • GO! GO! 575
  • Sega Hard Girls
  • Wake Up, Girls!
  • Afilia Saga

Afilia Saga as a unit don’t perform any songs in the Miracle Girls Festival game, but were invited to attend and perform. Its members work at select maid cafes in Japan, but are still also a musical group: performing the opening theme for Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation and publishing albums and singles over the past several years. Also, several of the seiyuu who voice Sega Hard Girls characters performed a couple of songs as a unit! Interestingly, this is not the first time is they have come together to perform SEGA-related songs.

The setlist for the concert is below:

  • Afilia Saga
    • Never Say Never
    • Magical☆Express☆Journey
    • S・M・L☆
  • Sega Hard Girls
    • Geki! Teikoku Kagekidan
    • SeHaGaGa Ganbachau!! (the opening theme for the SeHa Girls anime)
  • Wake Up, Girls!
    • 7 Girls War
    • Underground Labyrinth
    • Tachiagare!
  • GO! GO! 575
    • Kiseki Festival
    • Kotoba Colorful

Miracle Girls Festival is Out in Japan! Game Demo, and Song Previews

Miracle Girls Festival, a rhythm game featuring a large selection of popular anime franchises with cute girls in them, released today in Japan for the Playstation Vita. There are 22 songs spread across 11 franchises; two songs for each group. Other additional goodies include in-game costume changes and trophies for characters.

One good reason to consider Miracle Girls Festival is because Wake Up, Girls! are featured in this game, and I like them. There’s nothing wrong with bias when it reflects good judgment. (joking!)

On the fence about the game and want to test it for yourself? A free demo for the game is live in conjunction with Miracle Girls Festival’s release today. Senpaigamer notes that the demo features “Kotoba Colorful” from Go! Go! 575.

Sega has also regularly been uploading preview videos for individual songs onto Niconico. We can’t embed Niconico videos onto our Segalization posts, but if you’d like to check out some of these preview videos click on the links below. The description section of the videos will also link to previews of most of the songs available in the game, too

New Miracle Girls Festival Trailer

A recently-released shop front trailer for Sega’s Miracle Girls Festival is now playing in retail stores across Japan. The trailer is modest in length but comprehensive, aiming to offer a summary of what’s featured in the game to entice players to buy it. It is narrated by Yuka Ootsubo (who, incidentally, voices characters from four franchises present here: Yuru Yuri, Vividred Operation, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, and Go! Go! 575!) and Ayaka Oohashi. It’s a game meant to be both for fans of certain anime franchises and rhythm gaming fans.

Miracle Girls Festival is a Project DIVA-inspired rhythm game featuring a host of popular anime franchises with girl groups in them, among them being Wake Up, Girls!, the franchise pictured above, and Yuru Yuri. There are two songs available to play per franchise. Notable features include the game’s Tour Mode where you manage your groups and perform, figure collection, and other elements like costumes.

Miracle Girls Festival is set to release on December 17 in Japan, for Playstation Vita. There are no known localization plans for the game. One might say that this game has little chance of localization, but with Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax heading westward and Sega’s consistent localization of Project DIVA games (and these franchises represented in Miracle Girls Festival being moderately popular in their own right, such decisions can be hard to call!

Sega Announce Miracle Girls Festival for Playstation Vita

Sega have announced their latest anime collaboration, titled Miracle Girls Festival for Playstation Vita scheduled to release sometime this Winter in Japan. The game is a massive crossover featuring girls from mostly slice of life anime using the Project Diva engine. Gameplay looks exactly like Project Diva, with similar interface for the button commands. I’m curious what unique features the game will have over Project Diva. Siliconera translated details of the game, you can check out the following list of represented anime series.

Yuru Yuri
Nyaruko: Crawling with Love F
Vividred Operation
Kiniro Mosaic
Arpeggio of Blue Steel: Ars Nova
Tesagure! Bukatsumono
Wake Up, Girls!
Go! Go! 575
Nourin
Engaged to the Unidentified

Yuru Yuri is becoming a bit of a favorite with Sega, as Phantasy Star Online 2 already featured a collaboration with the anime beforehand. Interestingly, Go! Go! 575 series also sticks out because that is one of Sega’s newer multimedia projects. As you may remember, last year Sega released a Vita game titled Uta Kumi 575, another rhythm game about filling in missing lyrics done in haiku. The game cross promoted the then-airing anime adaptation.

Sega is bringing Miracle Girls Festival among their other games to AnimeJapan 2015 in playable form. Hopefully it is every bit as fun as Project Diva is.
