Dragon’s Crown Temporarily Removed from EU PlayStation Store Due to End of Atlus/NISA Partnership

It appears the first result of the end of the partnership between NIS America and Atlus in Europe has become visible, as Dragon’s Crown was removed from the EU PlayStation Store. Curiously, the game was actually part of the Big in Japan sale which we covered recently, making the removal of the game even more of a surprise. Fortunately, it appears the game will be returning to the PlayStation Store, as Atlus will be selling the game directly. NIS America has issued this statement to various gaming websites:

With regards to our previous statements on Dragon’s Crown for the European PSN, we must extend our deepest apologies to Atlus and European fans regarding the incorrect information about the removal from this store.

The removal of Dragon’s Crown from the European PSN was part of NIS America’s and Atlus’s mutual agreement on this title. We are happy to announce that Dragon’s Crown will be available directly from Atlus in Europe through PSN.

Please look forward to Dragon’s Crown returning to the European PSN soon.

Whether or not more Atlus games published by NISA will be rendered unavailable on the EU PlayStation Store is unclear, as NISA Europe doesn’t appear to have all the information themselves. It also not clear if the game will be back on sale on the EU PlayStation Store before the end of the Big in Japan sales.

NIS America Will no Longer be Publishing Atlus Games in Europe

Video game website MCVUK posted an article today, revealing that NIS America will no longer be publishing Atlus games in Europe. NIS America’s Managing DIrector Takuro Yamashita revealed that the company cut ties with Atlus ten days ago, stating that Atlus got “very picky about selecting the European publishing partner after it was bought by Sega.”. Following the reveal of this news, Atlus (and SEGA of America) PR manager John Hardin tweeted that the release of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir in Europe will not be affected by these events. As such, it’s likely that this will be the final Atlus game published by NISA Europe.

NISA Europe have announced that they will be publishing the 2D sidescrolling action RPG Odin Sphere Leifthrasir in Europe, for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The game will be localized in English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, and will be available in both digital and physical form. The special Storybook Edition will be exclusively available from Amazon UK and GAME, with preorders becoming available tomorrow. It’s not clear at the moment if the softcover art book preorder bonus, which is being included in all versions of the game in the US, will also be included with the regular EU release.

You can view the English trailer on NIS America’s Youtube channel below. It’s the same as the one posted by Atlus U.S.A. earlier, but they also have the trailer available in other languages. Odin Sphere Leifthrasir will be released in the Americas on June 7th.

NISA Europe Opens Preorders for Stella Glow – The Launch Edition in the EU

This week, NISA Europe opened up preorders for Stella Glow – The Launch Edition for the Nintendo 3DS on their online store.

The launch edition contains the following items:

  • Stella Glow game
  • Hilda’s Crystal Garden Cloth Poster
  • Bubu Flexi-Charm (3″x3″)
  • 5-Track “Song Magic” soundtrack
  • Collectible Outer Box

NISA Europe Stella Glow

This edition contains the same items as the US launch edition, for the price of £44.99 GBP. Unfortunately the NISA Europe store still doesn’t support any currencies other than British Pound, but converted to Euro this is about €59 (or $64), not including shipping. Shipping costs within the EU depend on the country you’re shipping to, and can vary from £4.99 (€6.5) in the UK to £29.99 (€39) if you live in Greece.

When asked on their Facebook page, a NISA Europe representative confirmed that the Launch Edition is not a NISA Europe store exclusive, and it will also be made available on the Nintendo store early next week. It’s not clear if other stores will also have access to the Launch Edition, but Amazon apparently won’t as they’re selling the regular edition (price varies from £39.99 on Amazon UK, to €39.99 for Amazon Germany/France, with sometimes free shipping depending on the country of destination).

Stella Glow will be released in Europe on March 11th, 2016 and will be published by NISA Europe.
