7th Dragon III Code: VFD “God-Hand” Trailer

The God-Hand is a class that specializes in powerful hand-to-hand offensive combat techniques as well as healing abilities particular to this class only. Successfully landing God-Hand techniques will enhance your “God Depth”, giving you access to even more powerful offensive options.

7th Dragon III Code: VFD has been on display during Tokyo Game Show 2015 and been healthily promoted by Sega, with promotional trailers for the game regularly on rotation. Character class trailers have been rolled out incrementally leading up to the game’s release next month (October 15.) No plans for localization are known.

7th Dragon III Duelist

7th Dragon III Code: VFD Duelist Trailer

Sega’s uploaded another character class trailer for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, this time showing off the Duelist. The Duelist summons monsters and makes use of “traps”  to attack. Their attacks are governed by the use of cards given to the player; using the best ones at hand will help you go far in the game.

Also, a reminder that 7th Dragon III Code: VFD will be featured at Tokyo Game Show 2015. There will be a 30-minute NicoNico segment on September 19th from approximately 12:25 – 12:55 JST featuring the latest 7th Dragon III info, and will probably cover anything new revealed at TGS too.

7th Dragon III Code: VFD Vanisher and Battle/Dragon Trailers, 1st PV

AnimeNewsNetwork writes that Sega has uploaded two new trailers for 7th Dragon III: Code VFD. The first trailer is for the high-damaging Vanisher class, while the other trailer…is not for a character class but is a system video demoing battles featuring dragons, which are a stronger enemy class than usual. It also showcases the potential of your support teams (the “2nd” and “3rd” sets of three) through their participation in a combination attack. I had guessed there would be two character trailers at a time, but it seems I was wrong (this time!)

Sega has also published the first promotional video for the game, featuring the opening theme song. It’s quite a lengthy production at around three minutes!

The game is set for release on October 15.

Anyway, watch the videos after the break!

7th Dragon III Code: VFD Samurai and Fortuner Trailers

The rollout for character class trailers have begun for 7th Dragon III: Code VFD. This first set contains the Samurai and Fortuner classes. The Samurai is an all-rounder, a straightforward pick-up-and-play class. Pretty modern get-up for a Samurai, I’ll say that. Maybe it’s just like Gemini Sunrise from Sakura Wars says, and it’s all about having the Samurai Soul. Anyway, the Fortuner is slightly less straightforward. They have paper defenses, but have strong debuff capabilities and techniques with great destructive power.

This game has eight classes, so we should expect at least three more sets of trailers for character classes, perhaps with another game system trailer or two along the way. Continue reading to check out the trailers!

7th dragon iii char creation

7th Dragon III Code: VFD Character Creation Trailer

AnimeNewsNetwork recently noticed that Sega uploaded a video onto their Japanese YouTube channel for 7th Dragon III: Code VFD offering a look into character creation. When creating your characters, you can customize them through:

  • a variety of preset character models
  • choosing from a list of voice sets separated by gender (ANN notes that 40 voice actors and actresses contributed lines for this title!)
  • which “type” they are from (referring to whether they are from Atlantis of the Past, Tokyo of the Present, or Eden of the Future) that affect color changes in the character models
  • one of the eight character classes (of course)

The game is set for release on October 15th in Japan with no word on localization as of yet. ANN describes this title as the last 7th Dragon game in their own writeup.

7th Dragon III PSO2

7th Dragon III Code: VFD Collaboration Coming to PSO2 in November

It’s been an eventful weekend for the Phantasy Star series and Phantasy Star Online 2 specifically. However, let’s also take note of the fact that 7th Dragon III Code: VFD will be featured in Phantasy Star Online 2 in a collaboration set for November (specific date TBA in the future,) following 7th Dragon III’s October release in Japan. It’s a modest but noticeable promotional push from Sega for what might be the last 7th Dragon game.

Players will have access to costume pieces and accessories for female versions of the Rune Knight and Fortuner classes, alongside costume items for both genders of the Samurai class. I can’t guess as to why only female versions will be available for the Rune Knight and the Fortuner. It’s strange considering the Samurai received costume Scratches for both genders.

Also worth noting is that the collaboration content will be available for the PC version and PSO2es, the smartphone version.

7th Dragon III

7th Dragon III Code: VFD (3DS) Announced, JPN Release Date (Oct 15)

Sega recently announced a new 7th Dragon title for the 3DS, titled 7th Dragon III Code: VFD for Japan. The game is due for an October 15 release this year. VFD will maintain the battle traditions of the 7th Dragon series (though maintaining the use of three party members, a change made in 7th Dragon 2020.) This game will offering eight classes, 32 skins, and 40 sets of character voices, mostly an improvement from the 7th Dragon 2020 games’ options. Also key to the concept of this entry in the series is the idea of three time settings: Atlantis representing the Past, Tokyo representing the Present, and “Eden” representing the future.

Sega has gone live with their own promotional website for 7th Dragon III Code: VFD. Famitsu also went live with a promotional article with images depicting the setting and battle sequences. A livestream for the game is set for July 4th.

This game’s situation is unique for a number of reasons.
