Blade Arcus Sonia

Sonia Blanche is Free DLC for Blade Arcus from Shining EX in Japan

Late last year, SEGA released Blade Arcus from Shining EX for Playstation 4 and Playstation 3. We haven’t heard much of it since then, until a blog post from SEGA confirmed that Sonia Blanche of Shining Resonance, previously a paid-DLC character, can now be downloaded for free on the PS Store. When the game first launched, Sonia was only available to people who bought first-print copies of Blade Arcus from Shining EX, and these first-print copies contained a code to download Sonia.

Additionally, the blog post mentions that Blade Arcus from Shining EX will be discounted on the PS Store from July 6th to July 19th. That’s less than two weeks, and the discount period has already begun. The discount is 20% for people who don’t have a PS+ membership, and 40% for those who do have a membership.

Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Review (PS4)

The original Odin Sphere is a 2D action RPG developed by Vanillaware and published by Atlus, which was released back in 2007 on the PS2. At the time it was praised for its stunning 2D visuals and intuitive gameplay, but it suffered from a low framerate. 9 years later, Atlus and Vanillaware have once again teamed up to release Odin Sphere Leifthrasir, a remastered version of the original, on the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Taking advantage of the more powerful hardware, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir attempts to resolve the problems with the original game. Below, you can find my review of the game’s PlayStation 4 version!

Persona 5 E3 2016 Trailer

Atlus has published a four-and-a-half minute long promotional trailer for Persona 5, for use with E3 2016. As with the media we’ve seen recently for the game at E3 2016, this features English subtitles with Japanese voicework.

In related news, John Hardin of Atlus PR maintains that Japanese voice tracks for the characters as DLC is being explored as an option for its Western release, but also suggests that it is not a guaranteed outcome and will not be easy to secure. We’ll keep you posted on any additional news.

Watch the trailer below! And feel free to leave us comments on the newly-released gaming media, or thoughts surrounding the release of these games.

Atlus / SEGA Stage Show Plans for E3 2016

RPG Site appears to have secured information regarding Atlus / SEGA’s stage show plans for E3 2016, as indicated by this tweet. This was heretofore an unannounced aspect of the company’s attendance, even after the recent publishing of the press release detailing the games that would be present at E3.

Here’s a listing for the presentation schedule. Please keep in mind that there are no known plans for streaming of stage presentations to be directly handled by Atlus. It’s possible that presentations might be archived or broadcasted at some time, but this is not confirmed in any public manner. All times are PDT.

Persona 5 Release Date For the Americas: February 17, 2017, Special Editions

It’s no secret that Persona 5’s changing release date has been the subject of jokes among some fans. Previously, launch windows have been specified for Persona 5, albeit ahead of much information regarding characters and plot themes. That aside, Persona 5 has the distinction of being one of the latter prominent titles to release across console generations, for any holdouts who haven’t purchased a PS4.

Atlus announced the news of a February 14 (Valentine’s Day!) release date for the Americas ahead of an upcoming E3 promotional blitz. Alongside this news, Atlus has announced two special editions to be made available in the Americas.

Yakuza Zero, King of Fighters XIV Playable at Sony’s E3 2016 Booth

E3 2016 is next week: June 14-16th. The hype train and rumor mill for all sorts of games are already active. Some fans might even get lucky with the leaks that are coming out recently (anyone here like Dead Rising?)

Meanwhile, Gematsu has recently published an article detailing a partial list of games confirmed to be playable at Sony’s E3 2016 booth. King of Fighters XIV (listed as being published by Atlus) and Yakuza Zero (listed as being published by SEGA), both of which will be available for the Playstation 4. These are great opportunities for both games. King of Fighters XIV is making the rounds at conventions and fighting games tournaments, and added exposure will only help the game. Meanwhile, Yakuza Zero will surely receive much attention and has a bit of a history with Sony due to the #buildingthelist campaign.

PS4 Demo of Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Now Available for the US

Atlus U.S.A. has announced that the PS4 demo for Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is now available on the US PSN. The PlayStation Vita version for the game is scheduled to be released later, on May 31, due to unforeseen circumstances. However, there doesn’t seem to be any mention of a PS3 demo. The demo allows you to play all of the five protagonists (Gwendolyn, Cornelius, Mercedes, Velvet and Oswald).

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is scheduled to be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita in North America on June 7. In Europe, the game will be released on June 24, and will also be the last Atlus game published by NISA Europe.

Valkyria Chronicles Remastered Enters UK Sales Chart at #6

The latest UK All Formats video game sales charts courtesy of Chart-track shows Valkyria Chronicles Remastered debuting at #6, just behind Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright. In the PS4 specific sales chart, it entered at #4. While the game is being sold at a budget price, the game appears to be getting a much better reception this time around than its original release on PS3. Back in 2008, the PS3 version of the game failed to enter the top 40 in the All Formats chart, and only debuted in the PS3 list at #18.
