Shenmue 3 Xsens Test Featured

Shenmue 3 Team Begins Motion Capture Testing

The Shenmue 3 team have posted a new update on their Kickstarter page, revealing that they’ve begun testing of several motion capture systems, starting with a new motion capture system by Xsens. Initial testing of the system appears to have been promising, as the system is apparently highly responsive with little noise interference. When all systems have been tested, the team will announce the final winner.

The update also puts the spotlight on some of the gifts that the team has received from the fans as a token of support. Lastly, they’ve also attempted to upload the latest screenshots of the game in a higher quality, but the process appears to have failed and they’ve contacted Kickstarter to help them upload the correct ones. In the meanwhile, the team is pointing people to the official website to get higher quality images. Those appear to be the same quality as the ones we’ve posted in an earlier article (courtesy of Sony).

Today, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X was released in Japan for the PlayStation Vita. At the same time, SEGA have revealed the first 1080P screenshots for the PS4 version of the game, giving us a good look at the technical upgrade! As expected, the game will also run at 60fps. Aside from an increase in resolution, the PS4 version will feature improved textures and lighting. The screenshot for Tsumi no Namai below shows the increased texture resolution in the background, as well as a lot more detail on the flying lilies. It’s a nice visual upgrade, and it’ll be interesting to see how well it compares to the upcoming PS4 version of Project DIVA Arcade (which is also running in 1080P/60fps).

Project DIVA X Ultimate Medley

SEGA Reveals Gameplay Footage of Project DIVA X’s “Ultimate Medley” on Extreme Difficulty

SEGA of Japan have posted a video showing a complete playthrough of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X‘s most difficult medley (on the game’s Extreme difficulty), which you can watch below. We talked about the medley in one of our earlier articles. With no less than 1047 notes and a combination of the most difficult songs in the game, the medley is certain to give even veteran players a challenge. I only ever completed a dozen songs on Extreme in Project DIVA F 2nd, so it’s unlikely I’ll manage to complete this song on Extreme, let alone get a Perfect for it. But does it actually look challenging enough for the Project DIVA experts out there? Let us know what you think about the medley in the comments!

SEGA Reveals the Full Website for Valkyria Chronicles Remastered

SEGA of America have unveiled the full version of their Valkyria Chronicles Remastered website, which you can visit here. The website now offers details on the game’s “CANVAS” graphics engine and the “BLiTZ” battle system. an overview of the game’s story, its world and the main characters and a look at the gameplay. Lastly, there’s information on where to pre-order the game in the Americas, as well as the special edition being released there. However, the website doesn’t contain information on the EU version of the game, which I find rather odd, given that this is evidently also the official website of the game for EU gamers. For comparison purposes, you can find a backup of the original Valkyria Chronicles website here.
