Valkyria Azure Revolution - PS Vita VS PS4 - Featured

Valkyria: Azure Revolution Comparison Screenshots (PS4 Versus PS Vita)

After playing through the PlayStation Vita version of the Valkyria: Azure Revolution demo, we compiled some screenshots to show the difference between the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita version of the game. As expected, the PlayStation Vita version has some considerable graphical downgrades compared to the PlayStation 4 version. Shadows, texture resolutions and geometry are all of a much lower quality on the PlayStation Vita version, and several special effects have been removed, but the framerate appears to hold up at a steady 30fps and the gameplay is pretty much identical.

The screenshots provided by Sony on the PlayStation Store also serve as the first look at the PS Vita version of the game. In addition, two new trailers of the Japanese PS4 version have been released, one of them introducing the game’s LeGION battle system and the other giving us a look at the city Elsinore in Jutland, which serves as your base of operations and allows for some degree of exploration. Valkyria: Azure Revolution Gets New 1080P Screenshots and Five Sinners Trailer

SEGA has been releasing a series of new 1080P screenshots of Valkyria: Azure Revolution on their official Twitter account lately, and we’ve compiled the ones released so far in the gallery below. A few days ago, SEGA also released a new trailer introducing the “Five Grave Sinners”, or the “circle of five”, who were remembered in history as traitors who led their entire country to war in their personal quest for revenge. What really took place during that time is something that we’ll likely find out when playing the game. We also talked about the individual members of the circle of five, which include main character Amleth, in an earlier article.

Valkyria Azure Revolution - Brunhild

New Valkyria: Azure Revolution Character Trailer Introduces Brunhild

SEGA of Japan has released a new character trailer for Valkyria: Azure Revolution, introducing the character Brunhild. As you can notice in the trailer, Brunhilde, a Valkyria, is themed after the Grim Reaper, as she wields a scythe in battle and can sometimes be seen wearing a death mask and black robes. As a Valkyria defending Emperor Claudius and the Rus empire, Brunhild is an enemy to Amleth and his anti-Valkyria Vanargand group. We can see her “Song of Death” incapacitate Amleth’s group in the trailer (a scene also shown if you successfully defeated Brunhild in the second demo), although Ophelia is apparently able to counter it with a song of her own. You can watch the trailer below.
